The portable toilets become very unclean if they are not maintained regularly, and smell is a common problem. The chemicals used in all the portable toilets are efficient to remove bad smells and they are suitable to be used by workers and other people.

In earlier times the most commonly used chemical was formaldehyde. No doubt that this chemical is very good at removing odors and also cleans well, but it has numerous side effects. Skin, eyes, and throat are affected very badly by this chemical and it is not very environmentally friendly. Today however the chemicals used in portable toilets are very human friendly and have an amazing cleaning power.

The dye used in the toilet is blue, and the dark color helps to mask the waste. The blue dye changes color when the tank is prepared for emptying, it will change color from blue to green. The chemicals also contain biocides, because they are necessary to prevent the growth of bacteria in human waste. And this prevents the development of odor. Fragrances are also included in chemicals
